Sunday, January 27 from 12:00pm – 4:00pm
Join friends and winter lovers for an afternoon of fun in the snow (hopefully). Take a guided hike to the lake front to see beautiful ice formations. Those visitors age 12 & up can try their hand – or feet – at snowshoeing (we have snow shoes available). Our teachers will take the younger set on an animal tracking hike. There will be “cool” sessions on snow crystals and how mammals keep warm. If conditions are right, you can ice skate on Mystery Lake or cross country ski on our slightly-groomed ski trails (but don’t forget to bring your own skates or skis). Enjoy the warmth of the fire with hot chocolate in our cozy Hearth room in our main building. And of course, our traditional “Word with a Bird” program starts in the Great Hall at 1:00pm so be sure to stop by and visit our birds of prey.
With both indoor and outdoor activities, this event will go on regardless of the weather so dress for whatever nature throws our way and celebrate winter with us.
Fee: Member: Child $4 (ages 5 and up), Adult $5
Non-Member: Child $6, Adult $7
