Necedah Whooping Crane Observation

Necedah National Wildlife Refuge is one of two experimental sites for whooping crane reintroduction. Join us for an early morning venture (5:00 am) into the refuge to a blind where we can observe the different crane chicks being trained by ultra lights. We will be going late enough in the season that we will be able to view between 2 to 3 chick groupings. Wednesday afternoon and the rest of Thursday we will acquaint ourselves with the Refuge’s multiple offerings including a chance to view the greatest concentration of redheaded woodpeckers in the state. Sign up early since we are limited to 14 people. The cost includes interpretation, transportation, lunch on Thursday and breakfast on Friday, lodging and all fees. Dinner, and lunch are at one’s own expenses. Contact Mary Fitzgerald at 414-352-3880 X201 for more information.
